The FBD 41001 was a tank locomotive that ran on the Friedland – Bila local line . Two identical machines (41002 and 41003) were in use on the Nezamislitz – Morkowitz local railway . The Brünn-Czernowitz operations management of the priv. Austro-Hungarian state railway company (StEG) ran the local railways , but this ended in 1909.
history
The machines were delivered by the First Bohemian-Moravian Machine Factory in 1909 to the Brno-Chernivtsi Headquarters.
The vehicles were very similar to the kkStB 178 series , from which they differed mainly in having a slightly larger fire box heating surface, slightly smaller wheels and larger water tanks. The water tanks reaching as far as the smoke chamber were particularly noticeable.
The three machines remained in use on their traditional routes until 1938. During this time the 41001 got the numbers 178.4101 and 422.001; the 41002 and 003 the numbers 178.4102 and 03, then 410.02 and 410.03. Probably in 1938 these three locomotives were given the ČSD numbers 422.904 to 906, and from 1948 onwards the numbers 422.0107 to 0109.
