The ČSD E 469.3030 (from 1988: 124.601 ) is a four-axle electric locomotive of the former Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD), which was manufactured in 1971/72 by Škoda in Plzeň as a test vehicle for high-speed traffic.
history
In the early 1970s, the Council for Mutual Economic Aid (RGW) decided to develop an electric high-speed locomotive or, alternatively, chassis to meet this range of applications. The development contract was awarded to Škoda in Plzeň . The factory took the last machine from the series E 469.3 (factory type 57E1) that had just been produced and equipped it with bogies of the 2nd generation and traction motors of the SŽD series ТС2Т of the type 3AL 4846 eT, which each have a continuous output of 618 kW. Furthermore, a different speed measuring system was installed than in the series. Except for the window protection grille, the locomotive body remained largely unchanged.
During test drives in the Velim test center , the locomotive reached a top speed of 219 km / h on September 5, 1972. In 1973 the locomotive was in the Soviet Union for test drives on broad gauge . There it reached a top speed of 224 km / h. It thus became the record holder for Czechoslovak locomotives and is still the case for Škoda products today.
The locomotive has been stationed in the test and inspection center in Velim since 1974, which today operates as the Zkušební centrum Výzkumného ústavu železničního (ZC VÚZ). In 2004 the locomotive was equipped with an electrically controlled DAKO BSE brake and the ETCS Level 1 train protection system.
