Đurđevac [ ˈdʑuːrdʑɛʋats ] or Đurđevec (German: Sankt Georgwar ; Hungarian: Szentgyörgyvár ) is a town in the Croatian Drau region (Croatian Podravina ) near the Hungarian border .
history
The city was first mentioned in 1267 and belongs to the Koprivnica-Križevci County . According to the 2011 census, the village has 8,264 inhabitants. The name of the city is derived from the patron saint, Saint George (Croatian Juraj , short form Đuro or Gjuro ).
