Đuro Đaković is an industrial company from the Croatian town of Slavonski Brod .
In 1923, the wood and furniture manufacturer Aleksandar Ehrman founded the wagon, machine and bridge factory Slawonski Brod with the help of outside capital , which in 1947 was named after the former leader of the Yugoslav Communist League in Đuro Đaković Industrija šinskih vozila, industrijskih i energetskih postrojennija i čelija Brod was renamed. Despite severe damage during the Second World War, the company was a leader in locomotive construction in Yugoslavia . In the literature, the company is often referred to simply as Slavonski Brod (German Slawonisch Brod ) after its location .
During the Second World War, a locomotive production hall was dismantled on behalf of the German occupying forces and erected in Wiener Neustadt on the site of the Raxwerke , the former Wiener Neustadt locomotive factory . In 2006 the hall was still at this location.
In addition to the production of locomotives, Đuro Đaković manufactures tanks , freight wagons , mine clearance vehicles and various construction vehicles, for example the T-72 derivative M-84 comes from this manufacturer.
The TEP (steam boiler construction) division is now part of EMAljans .
