Ēvele (historically Ehwele (s) , German Alt-Wohlfahrt , Alt Wolfahrt ) is a place and seat of a municipality ( pagasts ) in the district of Burtnieki in northern Latvia . In 2015, 231 residents lived here.

The place was first mentioned in 1562. It was the center of a parish with the villages and estates
