Julija Wladyslawiwna Osmak ( Ukrainian Юлія Владиславівна Осьмак ; born March 6, 1998 in Kiev ), spelling at the World Chess Federation FIDE Iulija Osmak , is a Ukrainian chess player .

In chess, Julija Osmak had success very early on. In 2008 in Herceg Novi she was second in the U10 female age group at the European Youth Championships , and second in the U12 female age group in Batumi in 2010 . She won the World Youth Championship in Porto Carras in 2010 in the U12 age group. In 2016 she won the European U18 championship for young women playing for the Ukrainian national team on the top board in Celje . She won the Ukrainian U20 Women's Individual Championship in 2012 and 2018.

In 2017 she won the Ukrainian women's individual championship in Zhytomyr . At the 2019 championship in Lutsk , she was tied for second place behind the winner Natalja Schukowa .

She played for the Ukrainian women's national team at the 2017 World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk , the 2018 Chess Olympiad in Batumi , in which Ukraine took second place, and the 2017 European Championships in Limenas Chersonisou and 2019 in Batumi.

In the Georgian club championship, she won the championship with Samegrelo in 2015. In Spain she plays for Jaime Casa Monzon , in Poland for TS Wisła Kraków . With the Kiev Chess Federation, she took part in the European Women's Club Cups in 2018 and 2019.

Title and rating

For winning the World Youth Championship, she was awarded the title of FIDE Women's Champion (WFM) in 2010 .

Since September 2016 she has held the title of Women's Grand Master (WGM). She achieved the norms for this at the Ukrainian individual championships for women in 2014 in Lviv with overachievement, in which she took third place with a gain of 85.6 Elo points , and at the women’s championship in 2015, also in Lviv, and at the European championship of women 2016 in Mamaia . In August 2017 she was awarded the title of International Master (IM). Your WGM norm at the 2014 women's championship was also an IM norm. She achieved the other IM standards in the A group of the 25th international tournament in Kavala and at the 2017 European Women's Championships in Riga .

Her highest position on the women's Elo ranking was 33rd in March 2020. In December 2014, she was fifth in the FIDE women's youth rating for the first time.
