The Šibenik Tunnel (Slovak: Tunel Šibenik ) is a 588 m long two-tube motorway tunnel in northern Slovakia near Levoča , on the D1 motorway , section Jánovce - Jablonov , section 2. It is located southeast of the city of Levoča and bears the name of the 652  m high hill Šibenik (also Šibeník ) south of the tunnel. Immediately to the west is the Levoča rest stop.

Construction started in June 2012 and the New Austrian Tunneling Method (NÖT) was used. From the beginning two tubes were built. On August 12, 2013, there was an accident when an explosive device unexpectedly exploded when it was defused and the explosive master was killed and five other construction workers were injured, two of them seriously , as a result of falling rocks . The ceremonial breakthrough of the southern tube took place on March 21, 2014.

The tunnel was opened to traffic on November 30, 2015 together with the Levoča – Jablonov section. The maximum speed is 100 km / h and the tunnel is passable for the transport of dangerous goods without restrictions (tunnel category A according to the ADR ).
