Once Spring and Back is a German television film from the spring television series by Peter Stauch from 2014. It was first broadcast on ZDF on March 23, 2014 .

The sixth film in the film series continues the story of the village helper Katja Baumann, played by Simone Thomalla , who supports families in a village called Spring in emergency situations for the aid organization “Hand in Hand” .

action

In the small Bavarian village "Frühling", the village helper Katja Baumann takes care of the single parent Charlize Gathman, who after a mental breakdown has temporary problems coping with everyday life. The young woman from South Africa came to Germany with her husband Philipp Forster. After her marriage failed, she regrets this step. She is also burdened by how much their son Gary suffers from the separation of his parents. Katja tries to run the household for Charlize and has to see how deeply the relationship between the former couple has been shattered. In an upcoming custody dispute, Gary's father obtains an injunction so that his ex-wife is not allowed to travel to South Africa with their child. Since Charlize's father is seriously ill, which requires her return, she leaves Gary with Katja.

Allegedly the boy doesn't want anything to do with his father. Katja gets the impression that, contrary to what Charlize claims, Gary's father is very interested in his son. Philipp Forster takes the opportunity to look after his child intensively and to convince the boy, unaffected by his mother, of how important he is to him.

Katja allows Forster to go on a climbing tour alone with his son. When Gary falls badly during the tour, Forster makes immense reproaches, especially since he fears that Charlize now has another reason to deny him custody. When Charlize comes back from South Africa, she reacts indignantly, also and in particular she complains that Katja clearly exceeded her competence when she entrusted Gary to his father. But Katja wouldn't be Katja if she couldn't convince Gary's mother that the boy needs his father. For her son's sake, Charlize refrains from deciding to return to South Africa with Gary.

In Katja's private life, the relationship with the veterinarian Mark Weber relaxes. Both get on very well now, but their relationship is still purely friendly. With an old car as a present for Katja's daughter Kiki, he can impress both of them. After Kiki has overcome the disappointment with her friend Matze, she befriends Sam, a young painter.

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv comes to the conclusion: “It is slowly getting a bit too much with the splendor of colors, the landscape lifting and the camera filters. The emotional custody case, on the other hand, is equipped with far fewer nuances, but lined with all the more gaudy social clichés [...]. [...] Nonetheless: the serial basic idea remains good, characters and main cast are above average in the context of the feel-good genre and in 'Springtime and Back' one thing succeeds better than ever: story and staging rely on the principle, a picture is worth a thousand words. "

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm see this less positively and show this episode with the "thumbs down". They judge: "Despite all the smoothness, the stories from the fictional village of Spring have so far had a down-to-earth approach and humor - here everyone talks as if they had memorized relationship guides from the graveyard." Conclusion: "Humorous low point of the whole series."
