action

Franz Holzner runs a small fish farm in the Bavarian Prealps, with which he and his small family feed. While he is working on the ponds and his wife Sandra is busy around the house, their daughter Lilly is playing alone in front of the house. In an unobserved moment, she starts the car in the game and drives off unintentionally. Father Franz wants to hurry after her, falls and tears a cruciate ligament, which then has to be operated on. Katja's daughter Kiki, who started training in the hospital, is assisting in this operation for the first time. At the same time, her mother is given the job of looking after the family and the fish farm as a village helper. She approaches this with her usual optimism and quickly gets used to fish farming. While she is selling her first smoked trout here, the operation in the hospital is not going as expected. Franz is operated on on both knees and is therefore out longer than expected.

After a long day at work, Katja meets a very upset and bad-tempered Kiki at home. Her daughter evades Katja's questions and withdraws. The Holzners also have problems when a customer cancels their order due to late delivery. Katja notices the tensions that exist between the couple after Franz comes home and cannot help with work from his wheelchair. In addition, the explanation of why both legs had to be operated on is inconclusive and she advises demanding financial compensation from the clinic. First of all, they should get the medical records and hire a lawyer. Sandra Holzner then speaks to the clinic director, who promptly puts her off, suspecting that Franz was the victim of a doctor's mistake. Katja steps in and learns that Kiki was present at the operation, although she had denied it to her. She speaks to her about it, but Kiki refuses and refers to her confidentiality. Katja also gets into a conflict of interest because if she continues to help the Holzners take action against the hospital, she may be working against her own daughter. Fortunately, this problem is resolved when the Holzners decide not to complain. Franz learns through his accident what it is like to finally have time for the family and enjoys it. An eternal legal battle could spoil this idyll and he does not want that. After Katja finds out that her daughter is partly to blame because she was supposed to mark the knee to be operated on and mixed up the left with the right, she is very happy about it.

Katja finds solace in her friend Cem for all her problems. He came as a surprise from Berlin and makes her days a little more beautiful. Ultimately, Kiki confides in her again. She talks to her about her problems and wants to be able to make her own mistakes. She gives up training in the hospital because she started it only for the sake of her mother and not because she was convinced of it.

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv comes to the conclusion: "The stories are no longer as appealing as the combination of the previously untold helper job on television with the elements of the family series and the modern Heimatfilm, packaged in the wellness-drama style, promised to start. The helper pattern has worn off a bit. But the (horizontal) serial has its charm. In addition, 'Time for Spring' is no longer so overloaded with problems, appears fresher again and the couple in need is convincing in both moral and acting terms. "

The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm give this episode a "thumbs straight". They judge: “Embedded in the usual 'heart cinema' music clinking and flat fortune cookie dialogues, the central conflict is actually interesting: the brave village helper is torn between loyalty to the family and the struggle for justice. Unfortunately, everything dissolves in the end, far from life, but in the typical broadcasting slot style. ”Conclusion:“ Strong in the beginning - landed as a soft quark. ”
