Spring Feelings is a German television film from the spring television series by Thomas Jauch from 2013. It was first broadcast on ZDF on February 24, 2013 .

The film continues the story of the village helper Katja Baumann, played by Simone Thomalla , who supports families in emergency situations. It is the fourth film in a series that focuses on a village called Spring and the aid organization “Hand in Hand”.

action

The village helper Katja Baumann wants to have a tetanus vaccination in the hospital . While doing so, she runs into Dr. Jules Thomé, who she likes at first sight. Although her trust in men has gotten a crack since breaking up with her unfaithful ex-husband, she falls in love, which is immediately noticed by her 18-year-old daughter Kiki, who is doing an internship at the hospital.

A new assignment that Katja receives through the village helpers center leads her to a small stud run by the vital grandmother Therese Wagner, who broke her pelvis when she fell down stairs and is now failing. In addition to the horses, the bedridden daughter, who has been paralyzed from the neck since a tragic car accident, has to be looked after. Katja is surprised to find that the patient is Susan Thomé, the wife of Dr. Jules Thomé. The adult daughter Laura, an active show jumper, also belongs to the family. Susan Thomé has been bitter since her accident and has passed on with her life. She sullenly bullies the entire family, which despite everything tries to make their difficult fate more bearable. Laura has already postponed her wedding three times because of her, which puts the relationship with her groom to the test.

Katja tries to jump straight into work, which she quickly succeeds thanks to Laura's help. However, Susan doesn't want to know anything about Katja and shows her out of her room. After a failed first day, Katja also has to comfort her daughter Kiki in the evening, who has just fallen out with her boyfriend.

Jules Thomé is pleasantly surprised to have the likeable Katja in the house to help. He knows how difficult his wife has been since she gave up. But Katja can no longer watch the tense situation that all other family members have to endure. Despite Susan's ban on entering her room, Katja goes to her alone and thus exceeds her competence. She explains in no uncertain terms that she has to fight because her discouragement is about to destroy her entire family. Laura will not postpone her wedding again and how long her husband can stand it is, in her opinion, only a matter of time.

Resigned, Katja wants to turn her back on the Thomés and is heartbroken about it, especially since she has to bury her hopes for Jules. She is all the more surprised when she hears that Susan has asked for her. In a conversation between the two women, she reveals her feelings and fears to Katja and opens up to her like no one before. She speaks of the feelings of guilt that she has towards her husband, who left the city because of her. Katja was the first who dared to tell her the truth so bluntly and she even liked it. And so she not only embarks on the experiment of achieving a little more mobility through physiotherapy, but even goes on a paraglider excursion with Katja.

When Therese comes back from the hospital, she is surprised at the progress Susan has made. She is relieved to see that Susan has overcome her bitterness and is actively participating in life again as best she can. Katja says goodbye to Jules, who remains unreachable for her, with a kiss.

Reviews

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv comes to the conclusion: “The story is a bit more romantic and melodramatic than the last 'Spring Children'. Sorrowful love runs through the plot, unfortunately also a music concept that reveals the characters and their story (s). Only a few beautiful picture ideas cannot be affected by the sound. [...] The return of the motif freedom / flying / letting go is clever. The cinematic resolution lacks immediacy and esprit, however. For the next 'spring', more grounding, honesty and emotional seriousness would be desirable again. "

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm judge: “Little chemistry between the actors, unfinished supporting roles, conflicts that dissolve in favor: Everything remains fragmentary - and in the middle: Simone Thomalla as a mask-like Madonna suspected of botox. Who wants to see that? "Conclusion:" Problem kitsch that makes no one happy "
