The Żar (German: Feuerberg ) is a mountain in Poland . Its name suggests that the alpine pastures on its slopes were obtained by slash and burn. The term Żar can be found very often all over the Beskydy Mountains . It is located in the municipal areas of Ustroń and Brenna and divides the river valleys of the upper Vistula and Brennica . With a height of 688 m, it is one of the higher mountains in the Równica ridge of the Silesian Beskids . The mountain is a popular tourist destination with many views of the neighboring mountains and the lowlands.
