Žiča ( Cyrillic : Жича) is a village in Serbia . On the outskirts of the village is the medieval Serbian Orthodox Monastery Žiča . Until the early 1990s of the 20th century the village was called Kruševica . The village is also mentioned as a city , but this is not the official status of the settlement . Žiča is located south of the city of Kraljevo .

Geography and population

The village is located in the Opština Kraljevo , in the Okrug Raška . Žiča had 3882 inhabitants at the 2002 census, compared to 3740 inhabitants in 1991. According to the last three population statistics, the population of Žiča continues to increase. The majority of the population are Orthodox Serbs and a minority, also Orthodox Montenegrins . There are also eight Orthodox Macedonians , five Catholic Croats , three Yugoslavs , a Catholic Slovene , a Catholic Czech and two Slavic Muslims living in the village .

The village consists of 1272 households. Žiča is located near the bank of the Ibar .
