In November 1421 the village was badly hit by the Second Elizabeth Flood. During the Eighty Years' War the village tried to be added to the Duchy of Brabant , but finally came to Holland in 1734. When the United Kingdom of the Netherlands was founded after the fall of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1814, 's Gravenmoer became part of the newly established province of Noord-Brabant. The place remained an independent municipality until 1997 and was then incorporated into Dongen.
