(1046) Edwin is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 1 December 1924 by the Belgian astronomer George Van Biesbroeck at Yerkes Observatory in Williams Bay , Wisconsin was discovered.

The asteroid is named after Edwin van Biesbroeck , the son of the discoverer.
