(1699) Honkasalo is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on August 26, 1941 by the Finnish astronomer Yrjö Väisälä in Turku .

The asteroid was named after the Finnish mathematician and student of the explorer Tauno Bruno Honkasalo .
