(1746) Brouwer is a main belt asteroid. He was born on 14 September 1963 at the Goethe Link Observatory at Brooklyn (Indiana) within the Indiana Asteroid Program of the Indiana University discovered.

The asteroid was named in honor of Dirk Brouwer , a Dutch-American astronomer.
