(1896) Beer ( 1971 UC 1 ; 1938 QQ ; 1949 TB ) is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on October 26, 1971 by Luboš Kohoutek in the Hamburg observatory ( Bergedorf ).
It is named after the astronomer Arthur Beer (1900–1980).
