(2189) Zaragoza is a main S-type belt asteroid discovered on August 30, 1975 at the El Leoncito Observatory , a branch of the Felix Aguilar Observatory . It was named in honor of Alda Zaragoza, who died in 1979. He was an employee of the observatory and was responsible for analyzing the plates. He also calculated the orbits of many comets and asteroids observed there .
