(3166) Klondike is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 30 March 1940 by the Finnish astronomer Yrjö Väisälä at Turku was discovered.

The name of the asteroid is reminiscent of the brothers Karl F. Joutsen and Anton F. Johnson , who made their fortune during the gold rush on the Klondike River .
