(4359) McCoy is a major belt asteroid discovered on September 16, 1988 by Schelte John Bus of the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory .
The asteroid is named after Timothy J. McCoy , curator of the National Meteorite Collection at the National Museum of Natural History in Washington.
