(4386) Lüst is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on September 26, 1960 by the research team Cornelis Johannes van Houten and Tom Gehrels as part of the Palomar-Leiden survey .

The asteroid is named after the German astrophysicist Reimar Lüst .
