(525) Adelaide is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 21 October 1908 by Joel H. Metcalf was discovered.
The asteroid was named after Queen Adelaide , the royal consort of the British King Wilhelm IV .
This name was originally used for the asteroid A904 EB, discovered by Max Wolf on March 14, 1904 . Since this asteroid could no longer be found, the name was reassigned. It was not until 1958 that it was found that the asteroid described by Max Wolf in 1904 was rediscovered on October 3, 1930. He received the name (1171) Rusthawelia .
