(60558) Echeclus is an asteroid of the Centaurs type, which as part of the on 3 March 2000 SPACEWatch -Programms was discovered.
He shows - how z. B. also the centaur asteroid (2060) Chiron - evidence of a coma that forms around the celestial body. This would be a typical feature of a comet. It therefore also bears the designation 174P / Echeclus .
The name of the asteroid is derived from the Centaur Echeclus from Greek mythology.
