06 is the title of a Dutch feature film from 1994. The director was Theo van Gogh , who was murdered in 2004 , based on the play of the same name by Johan van Doesburg . The main roles were played by Ariane Schluter and Ad van Kempen .
The subject of the film is a telephone sex relationship that is spiraling out of control. 06 was currently the phone code for chargeable value-added services in the Netherlands , similar to the former 0190 in Germany, 0930 in Austria or 0906 in Switzerland. Nowadays the Dutch area code for phone sex is 0906.
06 was one of van Gogh's most successful films. In 1994 it was the most visited national film in the Netherlands.
The Dutch Reclame Code Commissie , a commission of experts on compliance with certain rules in advertising, condemned the film poster designed by Erwin Olaf as a "violation of morality".
