The Football City Association Rheinfelden 2012 eV (short: FSV Rheinfelden ) is a football club from Rheinfelden (Baden) . It was created on May 23, 2012 through the merger of the SC Rheinfelden 03 and VfR Rheinfelden clubs.
history
SC Rheinfelden 03
SC Rheinfelden 03 emerged in 2003 from the merger of FC Rheinfelden and SV Warmbach (founded in 1962). For a long time, VfR Rheinfelden was also to become part of the merger. The VfR decided against participating in the preparation.
VfR Rheinfelden
On June 22, 1954, the Rheinfelden Post Sports Club was founded during the World Cup in Switzerland. He emerged from the Rheinfelder Post operating team. On February 9, 1957, the PSV Rheinfelden was renamed VfR Rheinfelden.
FC Rheinfelden
The FC Rheinfelden (1st football club Rheinfelden 1909) was founded in 1909 in Rheinfelden in Baden. At the same time, on the other side of the Rhine, on September 1, 1909, the FC Rheinfelden 1909 in Rheinfelden, Switzerland. After the end of the Second World War , all existing sports clubs were dissolved by the French occupiers. The members of TV, KSV and FC Rheinfelden founded the Rheinfelden Sports Association (SpVgg Rheinfelden for short, also SpV Rheinfelden). After the re-establishment of TV and KSV Rheinfelden, SpVgg Rheinfelden dissolved on January 23, 1951 and FC Rheinfelden was re-established.

For a long time, the women of the VfR were an integral part of the Association League South Baden. In the seasons 1971/1972 (first ever title holder), 1975/1976 and 1999/2000 they became South Baden champions. As a result of the 2000 title, they subsequently played in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg.
