The 1. FC Ringsdorff Godesberg (officially: the first football club Ringsdorff Godesberg 1919/22 eV ) is a sports club from the Bonn district of Bad Godesberg . The first soccer team played for six years in the highest amateur league in the Middle Rhine region.

history

The club was founded in March 1919 as SV Mehlem . This merged in 1937 with the gymnastics club Germania Mehlem founded in 1900 to form TuS Mehlem 1900 . In the summer of 1950 the clubs separated again. On June 28, 1958, the newly founded SV Mehlem and the football department of the company sports association of Ringsdorff-Werke Mehlem merged to form SV Ringsdorff Mehlem . Second home club is founded in 1922, SV Lannesdorf . Both clubs merged in the summer of 1966 to form today's 1. FC Ringsdorff Godesberg.

In 1960, the team made it to the district class, where they made it through to the national league straight away . After a third place in 1965, the Godesberger were a year later to a 4: 2 victory in the decider on the SC Duesseldorf North North runner-up of their group behind the SV Bergisch Gladbach 09 . This qualified the team for the relegation round to the Mittelrhein Association League, the highest amateur league at the time. There , the Godesbergers trained by Fritz Machate beat Viktoria Alsdorf 3-0 and Oberbrucher BC 09 2-1 and rose.

The first season under the current name ended the Godesberg tied with the Eschweiler SG . 1. FC Ringsdorff Godesberg won the deciding game for relegation in Cologne's Franz Kremer Stadium 1-0. In 1968 the club reached its sporting zenith in fourth place. Merger talks with local rivals Godesberg 08 failed meanwhile. In the following years the team slipped back into midfield and rose in 1972 . A year later the club moved into the Pennenfeld Stadium . In 1978, the Godesberger descended from the district league before the team returned to the regional league in 1984 after several unsuccessful attempts.

Three years later, 1. FC Ringsdorff Godesberg was runner-up in the regional league behind SC Brück , but lost the play-off for promotion against SV Hoengen . In 1992 the team was withdrawn from the regional league because they were no longer willing to pay players an expense allowance. In the district league C the club then started again with the 1st senior team without the players being paid for their use. After promotions in 1994 and 2010, 1. FC Ringsdorff Godesberg reached the district league A again, before the Godesbergers relegated to the district league B again in 2014.

The city of Bonn provided the club with an artificial turf pitch, which was completed in March 2018.
