The Verbandsliga Mittelrhein 1971/72 was the 16th season of the Verbandsliga Mittelrhein , which from 1962 to 1978 was the top division in men's amateur football on the Middle Rhine . From 1963, this league, together with the Lower Rhine and Westphalia leagues, formed the substructure of the West Regional Football League and was third-class in the German football league system of that time .
