    Promotion and German amateur championship

    The master Blumenthaler SV had no success in the subsequent round of promotion to Regionalliga Nord .

    Werder Bremen's amateur team took part in the 1972 German Amateur Championship as Bremen's representative and was eliminated in the round of 16 against TSV Marl-Hüls .
