The Mittelrhein Association League 1965/66 was the 10th season of the Mittelrhein Association League , which from 1962 to 1978 was the top division in men's amateur football on the Middle Rhine . From 1963, this league, together with the Lower Rhine and Westphalia leagues, formed the substructure of the West Regional Football League and was third-class in the German football league system of that time .
Season end
The SG Düren 99 was Middle Rhine champion, but remained in the league because they renounced promotion. Instead, the Bonner SC, which emerged from a merger before the season, took part as runner-up in the promotion round to Regionalliga West . They finished last there, but rose through the promotion of Fortuna Düsseldorf and Rot-Weiss Essen to the Bundesliga.
