The Verbandsliga Mittelrhein 1970/71 was the 15th season of the Verbandsliga Mittelrhein , which from 1962 to 1978 was the top division in men's amateur football on the Middle Rhine . From 1963, this league, together with the Lower Rhine and Westphalia leagues, formed the substructure of the West Regional Football League and was third-class in the German football league system of that time .
Season end
The SC Jülich 10 was Middle Rhine champion, but waived its right of promotion. The runner-up 1. FC Köln Amateure was not eligible for promotion as the second team. SV Schlebusch and Alemannia Mariadorf were relegated to the Landesliga Mittelrhein . Viktoria Alsdorf and SpVg Frechen 20 rose from the national leagues for the new 1971/72 season .
