The 1st division 2015/16 was the 70th season of the Danish 1st division in men's handball (the 18th as the second highest division).

Qualification for the Håndboldligaen 2016/17
In the qualifying games, the team from Tondern was able to prevail against Nordsjælland Håndbold , while Odder failed at HC Midtjylland .
Qualification for the 1st division 2016/17
The champions of the three groups of the 2nd division ( Korsør Slagelse Elitehåndbold , Fredericia HK 1990 and Frederikshavn fI ) went straight to the 1st division in 2016/17. The three runners-up played two teams in a simple round, which determined two participants in the 1st division 2016/17 in direct duels with the tenth and eleventh place winners of the 1st division (HIK Håndbold and IK Skovbakken).
