10th Paratrooper Division (Wehrmacht)
The 10th Paratrooper Division was a major unit of the Luftwaffe of the Wehrmacht during the Second World War . The division was set up on March 1, 1945 near Graz in Styria . The division's three paratrooper regiments 28, 29 and 30 were made up of six battalions that had been detached from the 1st and 4th paratrooper divisions in Italy in the Po Valley .
The 10th Parachute Division was deployed against Soviet troops on the Eastern Front in the Sankt Pölten area west of Vienna . During further fighting, the unit fell into Soviet captivity near Brno in Moravia in early May 1945.
