11th Paratrooper Division (Wehrmacht)
The 11th Parachute Division was a major unit of the Air Force of the German Wehrmacht during World War II . The division was set up in Leeuwarden in the Netherlands at the end of March 1945 . The unit was deployed on the Western Front in the Netherlands and Northern Germany . During the retreat towards the east, the division fell into Allied captivity on May 8, 1945 in the Bockhorn - Varel - Jade area .
