Currently (as of 2019) the building is the 44th tallest skyscraper in New York . 1251 Avenue of the Americas was built with a construction method similar to the former World Trade Center , which was completed only a year or two after it. The skyscraper is not far from 1221 Avenue of the Americas , which was built in a similar style and at the same time.
After its completion, the building was called the Exxon Building for some time .
