149th Field Training Division

The 149th Field Training Division was a German infantry division during World War II .

The division , like its sister division 150th Field Training Division , was set up on March 12, 1945 as a field training division by the Commander-in-Chief West in the Netherlands from Wehrkreis VI . From April 1945, the division was formally subordinate to the 25th Army .

By the end of March, three battalions, a regiment and a battery could be set up in addition to a regimental staff. The formation and training of the division was not completed before the end of the war in May 1945.

The commanding officer was Lieutenant General Fritz Kühlwein .
