The 382nd Field Training Division was a German infantry division during World War II .

Division history

The division was set up on September 9, 1942 as a field training division for Army Group B in the rear front area in southern Russia from Military District IX (staff). Further military districts releasing personnel were III , IV , IX , XII and XVII , supplemented by RAD personnel.

The 382nd Field Training Divisions were used to train units in the Soviet Union. In early 1943 the division was reduced to two regiments and moved to the area of ​​the 8th Army . After a few days in combat, the division was disbanded at the end of February 1943 and the remaining troops were assigned to the 213rd Security Division .

The sole commanding officer was Major General Paul Hoffmann .
