Moved up and down

The best "first" team (no second representation) is entitled to participate in the relegation tournament to the German Water Polo League (DWL) . The four qualified teams of the four second leagues (north, east, west and south) and the penultimate of the DWL take part in this and play the two places for the following season in the upper house. Relegated are the two bottom of the table, depending on the number of teams from the upper leagues (Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, South-West (Saarland with Rhineland-Palatinate)) there may be a promotion tournament for the free places in the 2nd WBLS .
