The 2013/14 season of the 2nd water polo league was the eighth season of the second highest German division in water polo as a four-track league ( north , east , west and south ).

The champions in the north were SpVg Laatzen , in the east the Czech guest team from Stepp Praha , in the west the second representation from ASC Duisburg and in the south SGW Leimen / Mannheim .

In the promotion round, the champions SpVg Laatzen (north) and SGW Leimen / Mannheim (south) prevailed against the third from the west of the SGW Solingen / Wuppertal and rose to the German water polo league . No team from the east exercised their right to participate in the promotion tournament.

North

In the north, the preliminary round was played in the "everyone against everyone" mode in a round-trip round. After that, the results of the second representation of SpVg Laatzen were deleted and the first four teams of the now corrected table moved into the play-off finals. In this, SpVg Laatzen secured the North German championship title. In the promotion round to the German Water Polo League , Laatzen took first place and was promoted to the upper house. There was no relegation from the 2nd Water Polo League North this season.

east

In the east, the master was determined in the mode "everyone against everyone" in a round trip. The Czech visiting team from Stepp Praha secured the title . Since Praha was not eligible for promotion, the following teams could have participated in the promotion round to the German Water Polo League . However, all of them waived the promotion round or a possible promotion to the House of Lords. After the season the SG Neukölln Berlin withdrew its second representation in the Association League Berlin.

west

In the west, the master was determined in the mode “everyone against everyone” in a round trip. The second Bundesliga representation from ASC Duisburg secured the title . Since Duisburg and the second representative from SV Krefeld 72, who came in second place , were not eligible for promotion, the third SGW Solingen / Wuppertal took part in the promotion round to the German Water Polo League . In this they took third place and missed promotion to the House of Lords. The SGW Rote Erde / SV Brambauer and the second representation from Duisburger SV 98 had to relegate to the upper league .

There was no relegation from the 2nd Water Polo League South this season.

Promotion round in Leimen

In the promotion round to the German Water Polo League (DWL) in Leimener Bäderpark, the champions of the North (SpVg Laatzen) and South (SGW Leimen / Mannheim) , as well as the third from the west (SGW Solingen / Wuppertal) met . Already after the first day, Laatzen and Leimen / Mannheim, after victories against Solingen / Wuppertal, were the newcomers to the DWL. No team from the east exercised their right of promotion.
