2nd Water Polo League North
The 2nd Water Polo League North (short 2. WBLN ) is one of the four second highest German leagues in the team sport water polo and thus the foundation of the German Water Polo League (DWL), as well as the highest division in northern Germany. It was created in 2006 after a reform of the DWL as the successor to the former Regionalliga Nord. The league is designed for ten clubs and is made up of clubs from the five state associations ( Schleswig-Holstein , Hamburg , Bremen , Lower Saxony and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ).
mode
In the 2015/2016 season, six clubs will play the North German champions. The field of six first plays in a preliminary round in the mode "everyone against everyone" in a round-trip and a second round. Then the two Bundesliga second representatives get out and the remaining four teams play the championship again in a main round in the mode “everyone against everyone”, whereby the points achieved are taken over from the preliminary round. The best team ( no second representation ) is eligible to participate in the promotion tournament to the German Water Polo League, in which the four qualified teams from the four second divisions (North, East , West and South ) take part and play the two promoted teams to the DWL. The question of relegation will only be clarified after the season and is based on any relegated members from the DWL and the number of teams from the subordinate leagues of the five state associations who are willing to climb.
