20 Times Square (also known as the Port Authority Tower ) is a planned skyscraper in New York City that was first publicly mentioned in late 2007. Currently (as of 2013) the project is on hold.

description

The PANYNJ had been planning for a long time (there were concrete plans as early as 1999) to expand its Port Authority Bus Terminal , which is the largest bus station in the city and is also the busiest bus station in the world. In 2007, PANYNJ therefore decided to work with the Vornado Realty Trust . During an architectural competition (a total of three competitors took part - César Pelli , Kohn Pedersen Fox and Rogers Stirk Harbor + Partners ), the design by R. Rogers was selected as the winner. According to the plans, the new tower should be 261 m high and have 45 floors. In addition, when the skyscraper was built, the bus terminal would be completely refurbished. In 2011 Vornado reported to have found a new partner to finance the building, but in November 2011 this new financier withdrew and the project had to be postponed (for the time being) for an indefinite period.
