4 de Abril Futebol Clube do Cuando Cubango , 4 de Abril FC for short , is an Angolan football club from Menongue , the capital of the province of Cuando Cubango .
The club welcomes its guests in the Estádio Municipal de Menongue , also known as Campo da Banca , with a capacity of 5,000 .
history
The club was named after the date of the armistice of the civil war in Angola on April 4, 2002. However, the exact date of foundation has not yet been announced to the league or the media.
Angolan João Machado has been the team's coach since 2013. Machado is considered a particularly experienced coach of Girabola , the top division of Angola, in which he has coached various teams for 33 years. The commitment of the coach by a club in the second division ( Gira Angola , usually called Segundona ) was made possible by the commitment of the provincial government.
Under Machado, the club rose to the Girabola for the first time in 2015. This is the first time that the province of Cuando Cubango is represented in the top professional league of Angola since the brief guest appearance of FC Chicoil in the 1998 season .
The club started its first professional season in February 2016 with a squad of 26 players. Among the newcomers were international players, the Cameroonian Dikongue from Union Douala , and the Brazilians Stefani and Dário from Guarani FC .
