60 Wall Street (formerly JP Morgan Headquarters ) is a 55-story skyscraper in Lower Manhattan , New York City . The building currently serves as the American headquarters of Deutsche Bank AG . The skyscraper, built between 1987 and 1989, was the headquarters of JP Morgan and Co. and contains over 160,000 square meters of office space. Kevin Roche and John Dinkeloo planned and built the building. The building with a rectangular floor plan ends with a stepped roof and is the 34th tallest building in the city.
In 2001, the entire building was purchased by Deutsche Bank for US $ 600 million to bridge the loss of the Deutsche Bank Building , which was badly damaged by the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 and subsequently abandoned. The structure, which is surrounded by Art Deco buildings, stands out from the skyline of Lower Manhattan and is visible from afar. According to a press release from Paramount Group Inc., the building was bought together with the GIC (Government of Singapore Investment Corporation) on January 24, 2017 for $ 1.04 billion.
