A commercial building is located at 91 Buchanan Street in the Scottish city ​​of Glasgow . In 1970 the building was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.

In 1895, Catherine Cranston , who would also open the Willow Tearooms the following decade , purchased the property. The following year, the current building was built to a design by Scottish architect George Washington Browne . George Henry Walton and Charles Rennie Mackintosh are responsible for the detailed design . In May 1897 the teaspoon was opened as Miss Cranston's Tea Rooms . Between 1968 and 1971 the interior was redesigned to meet the needs of a bank. As a result, the Clydesdale Bank set up a branch there.

In the course of the 1890s, the building was the subject of five specialist architectural publications. In the course of the 20th century several mentions followed in the specialist literature.

The three-story building with a mansard storey is located on Buchanan Street , a pedestrian zone in the center of Glasgow. It is designed in the style of Flemish architecture in neo-renaissance style. The east-facing front facade is decorated with alternating bands of red and cream-colored sandstone . It is structured asymmetrically. In a round-arched recess on the right there is a flat shop window with an entrance to the shop that is located there today. The original arched entrance is on the left. A two-story bay window protrudes above it . It is elaborately ornamented and closes with an ornamented gable with acroterion . Above the shop there is a balcony on curved corbels with a wrought iron balustrade along the facade. It is continued over the bay window. The windows behind are separated by stone window posts and suspected of having alternating ornamented segment arch gables . In the final, elaborately designed volute gable , narrow twin windows flank a single window. The gable is decorated with pilasters , a relief , obelisks and acroterion.
