Aéropostale (sometimes Aéro ) is an American fashion company based in New York City and Lyndhurst , New Jersey . The CEO is Thomas P. Johnson and the company has 26,000 employees.

History and Development

Aéropostale was founded in 1987. The company was originally only present in shopping malls , but since 2005 has also had a website where clothes and accessories can be bought. The surcharge-based delivery to Germany using the BorderFree (formerly FiftyOne ) service is currently (as of February 2018) suspended. Sales in 2010 amounted to 2.4 billion US dollars .

Sales transactions

Aéropostale stores are currently operated in the United States and in Puerto Rico . Over 350 additional stores are operated by licensees in the Middle East (e.g. Dubai ), Asia and Europe .

There are also 97 PS from Aéropostale sales outlets in 22 US states.

On May 4, 2016, an application was filed under Chapter 11 of the Federal Bankruptcy Act. The company was sold to a consortium consisting of Authentic Brands Group, General Growth Properties and Simon Property Group in September 2016 .

Brands

In addition to the actual brand, which is designed for 14 to 17 year old teenagers , Aéropostale has also had a brand for 7 to 12 year old children, known as PS , since 2009. According to the company, value is placed on high quality and functionality . The clothes are only sold in the stores and on the website.
