AJ Quinnell
AJ Quinnell (born June 25, 1940 in Nuneaton , † July 10, 2005 in Gozo , Malta ; real name Philip Nicholson ) was a British mystery and thriller writer .
Life
He actually met several of the people he described in his books on his many travels. He was married three times. His last wife, Elsebeth Egholm, is a Danish crime writer.
After his first book, Nicholson decided to keep his real identity a secret and to choose a pseudonym. He chose AJ from the initials of the bartender's son and Quinnell after rugby player Derek Quinnell.
The best-known figure was created by the author with the American and former Foreign Legionnaire John W. Creasy. These novels were in Japan to cult favorites .
His book Man on Fire (German book title: Der Söldner ; German film title: Mann unter Feuer ) was filmed twice, in 1987 and most recently in 2004 with Denzel Washington , with the directors making changes to the plot.
