The A505 is a trunk road in the south of England, west and north of London . It runs northeast from Leighton Buzzard , Bedfordshire and ends on the A11 near Abington and Sawston, Cambridgeshire .
In the section between Baldock and Royston , the road follows the historic Icknield Way . From its southwestern beginning to Dunstable and from the A1 (M) to the M11 motorway , it is designated as a primary route .
