The A942 road is an A-road in the Scottish council area of Moray .

The road branches off about ten kilometers east of the junction of the A96 from the A98 ( Fochabers - Fraserburgh ). After 400 m you will reach the port of Buckie . As a high street , the A942 is one of the main roads in the town. Located near the banks of the Moray Firth , the west across branches port Gordon leading A990 off. The A942, on the other hand, bends northeast and passes the Buckies port facilities. She leaves Buckie and runs along the Moray Firth coast. The road first reaches Findochty and finally Portknockie . There the A942 bends to the south and after another 1.5 km reaches the A98 again. Its total length is 11.1 km.
