AAA ( Japanese ト リ プ ル ・ エ ー , Toripuru Ē , 'Triple A', for Attack All Around ) is a Japanese J-Pop band that has been under contract with Avex Trax since September 2005 . The group was formed from five male and three female members who used to perform as dancers for stars like Ayumi Hamasaki and Ami Suzuki .

history

The band AAA was actually planned with the five male members Takahiro Nishijima, Naoya Urata, Shuta Sueyoshi, Shinjiro Atae, Mitsuhiro Hidaka and Misako Uno as the only female member. However, Avex decided to include Chiaki Ito and Yukari Goto in the band. Since the songs BLOOD on FIRE and Friday Party only contained six vocal parts, they could only be heard in the chorus .

In the summer of 2005 Avex announced the debut of a new pop and Eurobeat group, which would consist of male and female performers from the avex artist academy - a special facility of the label for training young singers and dancers. For this reason, the band gained its first fans even before their first single. From September to December they released a single every month and their first album, ATTACK , was released in January 2006. Due to the high number of releases, not all songs were presented live. But since each single contained a different genre , this did not have a major impact on sales.

As AAA Den-O they released the single Climax Jump for the opening of the series Kamen Rider Den-O . Her first appearance in the US was at the Otakon Anime Convention in Baltimore . Their 17th single MIRAGE reached number 1 on the Oricon charts and at the same time set the record with the lowest sales of a number 1 single in Japan with 25,333 records sold in one week.

On May 26th, the band will host an online concert on the Japanese Internet platform Ameba, with all AAA members controlling their avatars while live images are shown. Fans must purchase limited avatar items to participate. The event takes place in the “Pigg Dome” of Ameba Live Space, named after the avatars called “Pigg”.

According to the label, Yukari Goto left the group for health reasons in June 2007 shortly before the start of their 4th Attack Live Tour and there were seven members left.

Chiaki Ito left the group on January 12, 2017 because of her pregnancy and marriage.
