The  German Latin American Research Working Group (ADLAF) is an association of research institutes and individual scientists from all disciplines who focus on   Latin America .

history

The working group was founded in 1965. Since 2007 it is a registered association (ADLAF eV). ADLAF currently has 28 institutional members, including the Institute for Latin American Studies of the  GIGA German Institute of Global and Area Studies , the  Ibero-American Institute , the  Latin American Institute  (LAI) of the  Free University of Berlin , the Central Institute for Latin American Studies (ZILAS) of the Catholics University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt ,  GIZ , the German Hispanic Association, the  German Institute for Development Policy , the  Friedrich Ebert Foundation  and the  Konrad Adenauer Foundation . There are also around 200 individual members.

ADLAF organizes a conference every two years and publishes a monthly newsletter.

Thomas Fischer from ZILAS in Eichstätt has been the chairman of ADLAF since mid-2016. ADLAF is also a member of the Consejo Europeo de Investigaciones Sociales de América Latina (CEISAL, in German: European Council for Social Studies in Latin America).
