In 1996, the Toscana in Messina was rebuilt, increasing its passenger capacity from 170 to 474. It then operated on the route from Olbia to Civitavecchia . The ship has been in service between Livorno and Trapani since 2001 .
On October 8, 2005, the Toscana suffered engine damage during a single crossing from Cagliari to Palermo. However, she was able to continue her journey and arrived late in Palermo. After seven more years in service for Tirrenia di Navigazione, the ship went to Adria Ferries in November 2012 under the name AF Marina , for which she has since been in service between Durrës, Trieste and Ancona.
